West ISD Considers Concealed Carry On Campus

Tonight the West ISD school board is discussing whether to let employees carry concealed handguns in school. Since last year’s fertilizer plant explosion in West, many of the district’s classrooms have been moved into portables. That has some school officials worried about safety.

Update: Abortion Doctors Regain Admitting Privileges at Dallas Hospital

Two Texas doctors have filed a lawsuit against University General Hospital Dallas for revoking their admitting privileges.

Update:  Drs. Lamar Robinson and Jasbir Ahluwalia have reached a settlement [PDF] with University General Hospital Dallas. The hospital  has restored their admitting privileges, which enables them to keep providing abortions by complying with Texas' new abortion restrictions.

In a letter, University General Hospital Dallas says granting admitting privileges to doctors who perform abortions would be disruptive to the hospital’s reputation.

Waco Challenges Atmos Energy Rate Hike

The City of Waco is one of more than 130 Texas cities that are filing a lawsuit against a recent rate increase by natural gas provider Atmos Energy.

The rate increase went into effect June 1st and would be a little over 2 dollars for the average Atmos customer in Waco.
