TECEC Study
Early childhood education is the continuation of a process that begins long before the first day of school. Before the first day in a formal learning environment, thousands of events have helped to shape the young child. In January of 2009, the Waco Foundation commissioned the Texas Early Childhood Education Coalition (TECEC) in Austin, Texas to conduct a study to examine the early childhood education services in McLennan County. With an eye toward early childhood education, the TECEC research team began a two phase comprehensive assessment of the factors that can impact the life, health and well being of the children and families of McLennan County.
