Downtown Depot: Jimmy Dorrell

In this episode, Austin Meek of WacoBusinessNews.com talks with Jimmy Dorrell, executive Director of Mission Waco. They discuss how Jimmy has fought poverty in Waco for nearly four decades and how others can get involved as well. Will Burney is a Texas State Graduate with a Bachelor’s in Mass Communications. He began his career in Houston working as a sound mixer for commercials and films, as well as a photographer. In 2016, he began working in Waco on the Texas Music Cafe handling marketing, editing, and producing feature segments. In his spare time, he enjoys long walks on the beach and his fluffy black cat named Bear.
Austin Meek is an entrepreneur based in Waco, Texas. For his media company, Waco Business News, he documents Waco's economic revitalization and hosts the radio show and podcast, “Downtown Depot,” on 103.3 KWBU-FM. For Pokey O’s Cookies and Ice Cream, a food truck and storefront that he owns and operates with his wife, he serves as Chief Cookie Monster. Additionally, he is developing a retail and entertainment center on Elm Avenue in East Waco. Austin and Julia are proud parents to their daughter, Stevie, age 1.
