Waco Native Dr. Berry Brazelton passed away at 99 years old

Author and Pediatrician Dr. Berry Brazelton died yesterday at 99 years old. The pediatrician who worked with Boston Children’s hospital had deep ties to Texas.

Considered of the best known pediatricians since Dr. Spock, Brazelton wrote many child-rearing guides and is known for developing a test to look for developmental delays in newborns and for found ing Touch Point  clinics to teach physicians and childhood educators on how to work with parents. 

Much of Dr. Brazeltons work as done in Boston but h e often visited his hometown of Waco and was a proud Texan. Nan Holmes worked with Brazelton through a local Waco non profit.

“He would find anyone who was from Texas that was super special but if you were from Waco he would treat you like royalty at the training. Theres something about Texas that he just never lost. " Said Holmes

Brazelton's daughter confirmed his death but did not give the cause.
