This specialized court provides veterans who commit a misdemeanor on the post with the opportunity to avoid a federal conviction, if they can successfully complete treatment and counseling courses. 
 


Four Killed in Helicopter Crash at Fort Hood

Four people have died in a helicopter crash at Fort Hood, according to U.S. Army officials. In a statement, the Fort Hood public affairs office said the UH-60 helicopter crashed yesterday sometime after 5:49 p.m.

Fort Hood Shooter Kills 3, Himself, Injures 16

Four are dead and 16 are injured after a soldier went on a shooting rampage at Fort Hood military base yesterday afternoon. The shooter took his own life after a brief standoff with military police. Officials say the man used a gun bought off-base.

Initial reports of the shooting were foggy. Yvonne Frate, a middle school teacher at Fort Hood, said she had just driven off the base when she saw police cars racing in.
