During a press conference today, Waco Police Chief Brent Stroman said 3 Waco officers fired a total of 12 shots during the deadly Twin Peaks shootout on May 17.
Stroman said no other law enforcement officials from other agencies fired their weapons that day.
A total of 44 casings have been recovered at the scene, but Stroman said that number doesn’t include casings from inside revolvers that were fired.
All other shells recovered are from revolvers and weren’t fired from weapons belonging to law enforcement officials.
A total count on casings found remains uncertain.
Waco PD also released an updated count on weapons recovered from the scene. So far 475 weapons have been counted, including 151 firearms, 12 of which were rifles. According to the release, other weapons found include knives, brass knuckles, stun guns, and batons to name a few.
Stroman also refuted rumors that have emerged surrounding the shootout. He said Waco PD did not have snipers on the scene and they didn’t “fire indiscriminately into the crowd.”
